Viva Brazil is a Brazilian steakhouse, based in the city centre of Cardiff. It offers an all you can eat experience which features 15 different cuts of meat and poultry, all slow roasted over a charcoal grill with a salad bar with a great selection of Brazilian side dishes14315754_10153791775972321_1326528080_o.
When we arrived we were greeted by our server and given a brief explanation of how it all works as neither of us had been there before. Each table is given a disc that’s green on one side and red on the other. You can help yourself to the buffet of salad and sides in the middle and turn the disc to green to get the attention of the servers to signal you are ready for meat.

There are 15 different skewers to try and with each one you collect a stamp to keep track of what you have tried. It may sound complicatedbut you get the hang of it really quickly and it makes the whole experience more interesting.

The trick is to restrain yourself from that extra slice in order to save yourself to get round all 15 meats. It was so hard to say no with the skewers right in front of us, but it’s worth it to pace yourself in order to try them all
It was also hard not to fill up on too many side from the ‘salad island’. There was good selection of dishes including Cajun spiced chips, potatoes and an assortment of rice dishes. The restaurant itself was clean and cosy with low lighting. All the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the different foods.

14339347_10153791775592321_1341137433_oTo drink, I went with a Cosmopolitan cocktail and Gemma chose a Piña Colada – both looked and tasted amazing. After our meal we tried the Viva Brazil speciality coffees. I chose the White hot chocolate with a shot of Santa Teresa Rhum Orange which was quite strong but so delicious; Gemma opted for a mint chocolate Irish mocha.

Viva Brazil is different, fun and the flavours are beautiful; you can tell all the meats are of high quality – I will definitely be returning soon.
