Local Link Reviews: Manor Parc – Summer Menu Launch 2017


Summer is well and truly here. Gone are the stodgy steak pies and hot chocolates, replaced by fresh salads, fragrant fruits and summer wines. We were lucky enough to try out some of the new and exciting items on Manor Parc’s summer menu.

First up was chicken liver parfait served with apricots and hazelnuts. The parfait was so smooth and flavoursome and wentperfectly with the fruity apricots. It was so light and delicate, the perfect start to any meal.

Then there was the heritage tomato salad with serrano ham, black olives, goat’s curd and focaccia. If you thought tomatoes were only red, think again. There were green and orange tomatoes and nestled in between them was the delicious serrano ham.

We moved swiftly on to stonebass with spiced lentils, roasted brassicas, curried butter sauce and coriander. This was by far our favourite dish of the night. The stonebass was seasoned wonderfully and cooked to perfection. The meatiness of the fish went well with the spiced lentils, and the sauce brought the whole dish together beautifully. Following the fish was Celtic pride beef with olive oil mashed jersey royals, onion textures, salsafi, chard and thyme jus.






It was so succulent and was paired perfectly with the onions and mash. Safe to say, by this stage, I was rather full. Yet the food kept coming…

The first desert was chocolate with yogurt sorbet and honeycomb. Being a chocoholic, I absolutely loved it! The sour tanginess of the yogurt went nicely with the sweet chocolate and was all pulled together by the crispy honeycomb.

The final dish was strawberries served with iced clotted cream. This truly gave us all the summer feeling. It was light but still deliciously sweet.

Overall, the menu was breath-taking. It was so simple yet so elegant and the flavours were perfection. Manor Parc is the first place I will head to when going out for a meal this summer.
