The Chapel – Review

We were invited to the Beautiful Chapel. Chapel 1877 formerly the Pembroke Terrace chapel has been restored into this incredible modern Bar and Restaurant and is a hugely popular and known as one of Wales top restaurants. A la Carte restaurant sits in the top of the chapel amongst beautiful chapel windows and huge chandeliers with tables on Balconies and within little chapel booths. This is by far the most Beautiful Restaurant in Cardiff.

For Starters Ryan had Braised shoulder of pork , sweet and sour pickled melon , watercress salad . A very unique dish with bold new flavours which he never experienced before but completed the dish perfectly. I chose the curried Scallops, Bombay potatoes , mango salsa tempera cauliflower. I was abit apprehensive to try this dish but was pleasantly surprised how flavoursome this was.

For the main dish Ryan went for the rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce served with Skin on chips roast garlic button mushrooms sweet caramelised onions and thyme butter . Beautiful presented and lovely steak full of flavour. I went for the Free range corn fed chicken supreme sweet potato fondant creamed leeks , spring onions and whole grain mustard sauce. This was a beautiful dish rich in flavour last but not least Ryan went for the recommendation of the waiter, Iced rhubarb and ginger parfait , warm vanilla arancini poached rhubarb. This
dessert not only looked beautiful but tasted beautiful , Never tasted anything quite like this and would highly recommend anyone visit to try this.

I decided to try the vegan chocolate & chilli Fondant , dairy free chocolate ice cream rum soaked fruits . Lovely dish but I couldn’t help but tuck into Ryans. This inspiring restaurant is a must visit restaurant of Cardiff.
